What to watch out for in 2010…

POSED welcomes you all into the new year and thrusts you straight into the trend stratosphere.

2010 promises a marvel of trend delights in all moods, fantasies, shapes and structures; from Versace indulging in the femininity and fantasy of Alice being lost in Wonderland to Rodarte declaring all out war on every fabric in sight.

Here’s what to look out for this spring/summer…

Fantasy land

Timely inspired by Tim Burton’s remake of Alice in Wonderland, due out in March; Versace express and explore the secret fantasies within.
Celebrating Gianni’s early 90’s heyday with tiny pelmet skirts, layered jazzily printed dresses of palm trees, shorter than short shorts and Alice esc frilled panties, which Prada are similarly rocking this spring/summer!

Urban

Balenciaga and Rodarte are seriously smashing this hard hitting trend that trashes everything; incorporating shredding, burning and scarring with futuristic technique in art craftsmanship.
Think Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome; from hoodies moulded from leather, vegetable dyed leather replacing jeans to wide shouldered metal epaulette military tailcoats, accessorised with bullet belts and bullet holed tailored t-shirts.

Collapsing fabrics

Givenchy encourages you to unleash you’re inner goddess with fine detail, breath taking technical achievement and 60’s Roman Couture.
Mixing a considerable use of drapery and pleating with massive spirals and ruffles.

A complete backlash to urban, focusing instead on an elegant trip to the theatre, ballet or opera. Achieving a more sensuous than sexy appeal through use of extravagant necklines, cuffs and hems, multiple layered modernised tutus and Hollywood esc puffy coats.
